Links in Pop-ups

I saw a pop-up on my computer recently about doing some kind of maintenance scan on my hard drive. I closed the pop-up without doing anything. Was this pop-up some kind of spyware request? [br]

That pop-up you saw on your computer sure sounded like a possible spyware situation. What the spyware company does is send pop-ups like that to influence users to click on the link in the pop-up to have their system scanned. The only problem with this is spyware is downloaded to your computer and installed without you knowing it. [br][br]You did right by closing that pop-up. Never click on a link in a pop-up you don't recognize. Because if you do, the likely chance of getting spyware increases dramatically. [br][br]
