SpamLaws News | The Egg-in-pants Scam - 12/10/2007
An elderly woman received a 20-day sentence for fraud in Cyprus after telling a man he would die in his sleep if he didn't pay her to lift the "curse". The court in Nicosia sentenced 69-year old Hayriye Rezvanoglu and ordered her to return the 500 Cyprus pounds to Thanos Savvides, the victim. Ms. Rezvanoglu had suggested Mr. Thanos to lift the curse by using an egg, his underpants, a spoon and a urine sample. What exactly he had to with the items remains unclear. However, the court determined that Ms. Rezvanoglu exploited Mr. Savvides's "vulnerable psychological and emotional state".
