SpamLaws News | Uganda's Vaccine Scam Increases - 11/07/2007
Many high profile people in Kampala have fallen victim to Uganda's vaccine scam and have been cheated thousands of dollars. According to one victim, the fraudsters portray themselves as middlemen for a wealthy Causian man who plans to buy the vaccine?that is a Hydroxine vaccine for horses and donkeys.
The fraudsters claim that the wildlife authority sells the vaccine for $2,100 per tube but they charge their rich white buyer $2,700 for a tube. They promise their victims a huge return if they invest funds for the deal. After the conmen receive their money they issue a fake Uganda Wildlife Authority receipt and a one-litre bottle of pseudo-vaccine, usually filled with water, to the victim.
The wildlife authorities urge the public to report cases like this to the police and deny knowing about the vaccine.
Kampala's police spokesman Simeo Nsubuga remarked: "People should not invest their money in such useless deals."
